Newark is in New Jersey, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Newark is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New Jersey's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Great programming for families with young children. The Second Saturday program is not only free, but it is also engaging and welcoming. My kids have grown from toddlers to school-aged children and their love and wonder for plants, insects, water, and nature more broadly has roots at the Greater Newark Conservancy.

I really enjoyed the chickpea Untuna Salad class today. It is a recipe that I really wanted. Please place banners that give directions to the class and a banner telling what classes are offered.

The FoodCorps employees GNC hires and trains to teach Newark schoolchildren about healthy food and good nutrition really connect with the kids. The program called Healthy Food for Newark Schools can really change what these kids are eating- not just the carb stuff and highly processed lunch food they've been fed over the years. Real Change! Try Family Fun in the Kitchen some Saturday. The Chef is a great teacher too.
